These fast sinking, level tips use tungsten powder for density, not lead and, as a result, are supple, do not kink and sink like a rock. Built on RIO’s ultra-low stretch ConnectCore, they are extremely sensitive to soft grabs and ensure fast, solid hook sets.

Fast & Easy Tippet Replacement

A leader with a tippet ring turns over perfectly. Use lightweight Tippet Rings when fishing dry flies. Just tie the tippet ring to a leader with a clinch knot, and then add the required tippet in the same way. Tapered leaders last longer with a tippet ring since the leader isn't shortened every time tippets are replaced. Tippet rings also make it amazingly simple to add droppers. They work well for European Style Nymphing and for Indicator nymph fishing.

Reduces line twist when casting large, wind resistant flies

Adding a swivel between the tapered section of your leader and the tippet allows the tippet and fly to spin without twisting the rest of your system, resulting in smooth, tangle-free casting all day long.

Swivels are also useful in long indicator leaders used in stillwater. By adding a swivel, the angler can add weight and also create a “stopper” for a dropper leg and fly to rest on after a fish has taken the fly.
